Cat Rigdon is a painter and fiber artist based in both Dallas, Texas and London, England. Rigdon grew up in Cyprus during the late 1990s and early 2000s, the island’s strong tradition of folk art and naturalism is reflected in Rigdon’s work. She graduated from Texas State University in 2014 and was a Decorative Arts Specialist and Cataloger for Heritage Auctions. She was awarded The Clare Hart DeGolyer Memorial Fund Award through the Dallas Museum of Art in 2016 and has shown with multiple galleries in Dallas. Her works explores the mythology of Cyprus and her family’s sudden emigration.
